I’ve started this game where I shovel the walk before leaving for work, even if it is still snowing. My goal is to shame my neighbors into shoveling/clearing their walks. It hardly works, especially with those my age or younger, but it makes the tedious job less boring.

It also doesn’t work at work. The harder I work, the less work my coworkers do. If I managed to increase my output slightly more, they would collapse into gossiping singularities, unable to ever move again. Maybe that’s what quasars are doing as they pulse – trying to tell us what the next galaxy over did at the quadrant barbecue, and which stars are now dating .
